So I have made it to my senior year of school and have never done a keg stand. I always found them to be kind of Juvenile, but I told a buddy that I never had and many of my crew made a big deal about it. Being a good sport I said I would give it a try once. I am going to a party and it is going to be kind of an event, with some 30 people watching.

I want to do well (at least not bad), do you have any advice on how to do this?

Don't take this as ridicule or sarcasm at all, but it is sound advice about doing one.

Don't.

Incidentally, what exactly is a 'keg stand?' I've drank my share of beer and have heard the term plenty, but never actually asked what it means.

You're one up on me, I'd never even heard the term. But here it is:

I say only do it if YOU want to. Personally, I don't find keg stands particularly fun, especially since they're usually filled with utter crap disguised as beer. I just can't drink crappy beer.

Well said. I would not encourage binge drinking in anyone, especially a minor, I will say that experience is a key to a good life. Without a keg stand or tequila slammer or two, I wonder if I would have developed into the sort of man (somewhat of a snob) that can truly appreciate an actually cocktail, not yet another something-tini or $12 cool-aid or suds capped golden water, but an actual drink for the experience of it rather than the effect, or affect. My youth seemed to be about doing things I would clearly regret later, but would regret more had I not done them. That is how you get the sly,” been there done that,” demeanor so prevalent in Mr. Bond. Be careful, don’t break the law, but enjoy life for what it is, experience.
