Reading for enjoyment just doesn't strike me as something Bond would do. Fleming makes a point in his novels that Bond is a man of action, whether on assignment or holiday. So reading, unless it was to keep up with current events or to read up on skills necessary for his work, wouldn't be on his to do list.

That said, an excellent magazine to read is, "The Week." I can see Bond reading this as the articles are very concise and contain viewpoints from multiple publications throughout the world, so you'll get very different perspectives on a single issue.

I was reading a book about the creation and sources of the literary Bond and at one point it says Bond is not comfortable reading books or something along that line. He may read technical reports or case files but he does not read for enjoyment.

Bond actually spends a large part of "The Living Daylights" short story reading a spy thriller.

I believe in the book From Russia With Love, 007 is also reading a novel while flying to Turkey to meet up with Darko Kerim. I just wish I could recall the name of the book he was reading.
