Gentleman's Gazette has run a series of articles on interior decor that I thought might be of interest to our community, and provide ideas that may be of use. The only issue with Gentleman's Gazette webpages is that you are continually bombarded with a popup attempting to have you download the author's free ebook and subscribe to his email updates, however, if you have a popup blocker you will be able to forgo this distraction. Having said that, the information provided is worth this minor inconvenience.

In Paul Kyriazi's book on living the Bond lifestyle, he puts a lot of emphasis on your base of operations, desk, office, etc. and keeping it clean and organized. While I'm not as organized as Paul suggests, after seeing Bond's apartment in Spectre, I'm less concerned about it.

Although, there is a difference between the Bond Paul based his writings on vs the Bond we have today. I recently saw this graphic that fairly well delineates the differences. While this does exaggerate Craig's Bond, it does have that grain of truth...

So while I'm kind of in the Craig camp when it comes to messy, I am striving to be more in the Connery camp.

Although... If a cluttered desk it a sign of a cluttered mind, what does an empty desk symbolize???

Eh. I don't know. My tastes are mostly limited to Victorian. Everything looked either Martha Stewart or Colin Cowie. The sitting room was kind of nice, though.

The pinball machines were a nice touch. But, what kind of man cave doesn't have a pool table?

I tend to lean towards Victorian too, but Victorian was really quite eclectic as a lot of the furnishings had been collected over generations and from all parts of the world. I do enjoy looking at different styles though, and It might be fun to give them a try, even though I may not want to live in them for really extended periods. In the early Bond films, there were definite styles associated with the good guys and the bad guys, traditional for the good guys, modern for the bad guys. This same trend was used in Burn Notice, good guys always lived in old Florida style cottages, and the bad guys lived in the new Florida mansion style homes.

I almost bought a Frank Lloyd Wright style house in Albuquerque, and even though we wound up in a really nice home, I still day dream about decorating that modernistic house. ;)
