FSI language was a US based military language learning program initially designed to rapidly up-skill foreign diplomats for international posts. It is pretty traditional in its approach. All the courses have recently become public domain and are getting updated at the site below.

If you are incredibly motivated you could teach yourself a massive amount about your target language using these completely free and legal courses that are designed, effectively, for spies.
