Being James Bond

I went in 2004-05 and was absolutely blown away by the 1 million+ people cheering at the stroke of midnight. It was so cool, I proposed to my wife over there under the Eiffel Tower!!!


I highly recommend spending at least a week there, ans make a list of what you really want to see. There's so much to see you could spend a month there, so prioritize and plan, then execute!!!

Anyone else been to Paris?

Shadow, you are right. A week in Paris is only enough to make you realize that you have only scratched the surface. Clothes, food, wine, Paris has all of the best available. I recommend it to anyone.

Never at New Years, but I have been there. I was on a tour with a group that toured the entire country, and we only had 3 days in Paris. Of course we saw all of the tourist attractions, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Opera House. We didn't have time for the Louvre, or some of the other, perhaps off the beaten path parts of the city. I was actually disappointed with Paris, its not like Rome, which I think is the gem of European cities (been there 3 times, and will go again). But, we only had 3 days and were tied to a group. I'll have to give it another chance.
