Being James Bond

I can't believe that no one's posted anything over in here yet!! It was one of the last places I visited before I left Germany- had an absolute blast. Saw the Anne Frank house, which was a real inspirational visit. I also got to go to the Heineken Brewery, which was my favorite part of the trip. The tour sends you through these old fermentation tanks that are absolutely HUGE, and you get a tour of the place's history, see an old mock up and (my favorite) sample FREE ice-cold Heineken. Without a doubt the BEST Heineken I have ever had. One of the taps had ice forming on it and it said "Heineken COLD" on it and that stuff was AMAZING!!! I think the stuff that makes it to the US is different. Sure tastes that way. That or it sits too long in their warehouses. At any rate, Amsterdam is a very cool city, VERY bicycle friendly (I saw a parking garage with around 20,000 bicycles in there, it was 3 or 4 stories high) and English is frequently spoken there. I had no problem communicating with the locals there, and all the restaurants there that I went to were very good, which included the Hard Rock Cafe. Not as expensive as Paris or Rome, but a good place to vosit iin the summer, and make sure to take a canal tour, they are REALLY cool.

tru dat and is it true many substances are legal in amsterdam

From my understanding of it, marajuana is illegal in the Netherlands, but the law is not really enforced, meaning that the "cafes" and such are able to do business.

I was in Amsterdam when I was six, so I did not get to really enjoy it. However, my memory of it includes a lot of really cool cannals. It is definitely a place I want to revisit.
